Shaping Postsecondary Funding Priorities in Ontario’s Pre-Budget Process

Led the development of a formal pre-budget submission to the Ontario Ministry of Finance, translating system-wide student affordability and workforce challenges into targeted fiscal policy recommendations. Representing approximately 125,000 students, the submission advanced proposals on student financial aid, institutional sustainability, mental health funding, and work-integrated learning.The work directly informed government engagement efforts, including a formal presentation at a Ministry of Finance pre-budget consultation hearing, with a subsequent invitation to present before the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs prior to the provincial election cycle.
